Baby Dino Plush

Hey everyone, it's Meagan again!
While Rachel and I don't have the pleasure of living together
over the summer, that doesn't stop our crafting.

My cousin is going to have her second baby this July and so I thought
I would welcome him with something handmade. I found
this adorable sewing pattern online and thought it seemed easy enough that
even I, an amateur sewer, should be able to handle it.

I've heard that babies love to feel those silky tags and thought this would be a
cuddly and soothing plushie for the new baby. The instructions
are fairly simple (but of course I found a way to mess
it up and put the ribbons inside out the first time).

And here is my finished product!

My sewing is certainly not perfect; you can see the stitches in more than a few places, but since the recipient is going to be pooping in his pants for a few years, I have a feeling he won't mind.

(apologies that I do not have Rachel's awesome camera or photography skills)

If you guys know of any other easy sewing patterns like this one let me know! I would love to make something from the same fabric for his big brother.

Book Review

Life has been crazy.
Between finals, moving, and pain I have not been up to blogging.
(I apologize!)
Luckily, after finals were over I had a bit of time to read!
I picked up this amazing memoir by Elizabeth Smart.
The events depicted within this book are truly devastating.
But at the same time, it was the most inspiring thing I've ever read.
Please go read this book.
Elizabeth's outlook on life even through her struggles is truly awe-inspiring.

Let me know of any books you've been loving lately!

I Made Soap!

I have been dying to make a batch of soap!
Such a normal thing for a 21 year old girl to say...
I am not quite ready to work with Lye, so instead I started with this soap base:

Foundation Review

Sit tight kiddos, this will be a quick one!
Just wanted to give a fast review of Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation.
This stuff is great in terms of coverage, staying power, and ease of application.
It is also really cheap!
Unfortunately, the lightest shade this comes in is still too dark for me.
To use this I have to mix it with lighter foundations that don't cover as well.
I definitely think you guys should try this out if it matches your skin tone!
It is a great foundation and I hope it comes out in lighter shades soon.

Let me know if you have a great foundation that comes in pale colors!
Thanks for reading.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Ahhh, life has been crazy and full of crappy symptoms.
But, I am back baby.
Thought I would give you all a quick look at some of favorite things.

Let's start with the Sweet Mint EOS lip-balm.
Everyone is obsessed with this lately, and for good reason.
It is a great lip-balm with amazing flavors.
But to be honest, I mostly like it because I get to rub an egg on my lips.
I definitely suggest you guys try this stuff if you haven't already!
